Gather: Cultural Medicine
Music, dance, gathering arond meals and celebrating community--these are core, age-old human practices to keep ourselves connected, healthy and joyful, even during hard times. In this age of digital distraction, screen mediated everything and social isolation, it is more important than ever to keep these human capacities alive and well. Plus it's soooo much fun.
With seasonal gatherings at the intersection of garden tending, music making and food sharing, collaborations with musician friends, and a shared appreciation, in general, of musical community, this Garden hums with joyful harmonies and rhythms.
Each summer we host the West Marin Fiddle Camp, an all-acoustic camp focused on folk, old-time, bluegrass, country, cajun/zydeco, and roots music. This camp is part of the movemetn to preserve American folk heritage through oral tradition, with world-class instructors teaching acoustic guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin and more.
