Dana Bee is an experienced facilitator, artist, musician, and engaged in environmental and social activism. She grew up in the mountains of the Truckee, Lake Tahoe region with a strong nature connection. For the last 11 years she has been working with kids at the intersection of food and healing with the goal of inspiring care for the natural world.
Dana was a Teacher for Gateway Mountain Center leading natural and human history based programs. She was also a Naturalist for Sierra Watershed Educational Partnerships, a touring teacher with Compass Green Project, and a Rock Climbing Instructor. She spent 4 years working at Slide Ranch starting in the Teacher-in-Residence program and working her way to being program coordinator. She has led strength-based programs for indigenous youth and communities. Dana is a graduate of the Rising Leaders Fellowship, a project-based learning program guided by the practice of social justice.
Dana is dedicated to contributing to the health of our community through teaching with a full heart. She feels youth need to be given the opportunity to engage in discovery of the natural world, so they see themselves as part of their environment and as part of the solution to the environmental challenges we will continue to face.
